Response from Clay!
I posted yesterday that I sent a copy of our recap for Operation Vanilla for a Change to Diane Bubel. I just got this note back from her:
| Quote: |
I forwarded your email to Clayton and he sent me a response to pass on to you.
Clayton wrote:

end of Clayton's comment.
Please feel free to share this with "Operation Vanilla".
Thanks for your continued support and friendship.
Bye for now,
Diane Bubel |

Boggles the mind. Take a look at this:
Jessica Back for More Buffalo
| Quote: |
Also picked up for a second season by MTV was Snoop Dogg's Doggy Fizzle Televizzle.
The variety show stars the rapper in comedy sketches featuring plenty of pimp 'n' ho humor. It's something akin to Comedy Central's The Chappelle Show crossed with Fox's '90s hit In Living Color.
As schoolteacher Mr. Dizzle, Snoop teaches his pupils some variations on classic nursery rhymes: "With a knick-knack bitch snap give a ho my bone/These li'l hos came roaming home." As an Arby's drive-thru worker, he takes orders in his trademark izzle-speak, befuddling his customers.
|
Clay is right. Stop treating the public like we're a bunch of idiots.
Seriously, they want to know why Clay is so very much needed today and being welcomed with open arms by so many? This answers their questions.
Thank God (seriously!) for Clay.

| abrahammy I read that article the other day and I was like WTF? Kelly and no makeover? Puh-lease. I love me some Kelly, but the pictures of her without makeup and being dressed up? She looks plainer than the girl next door. The stripey highlights? Sure, maybe she didn't need as much help picking out clothes, but some of the stuff she picked for herself during the show just did.not.work. |
Exactly. Everyone always shows a picture of Atlanta Clay as the "before" shot, so the difference is striking. However, Kelly's Dallas audition was NEVER shown, so the look she was sporting then (pre-AI help) is ignored. Which means that no one ever seems to notice that her hair, makeup and clothes have changed just as much as Clay's have. (And the outfit she wore to that audition was a pair of bleached jeans that she made into a dress. Fuglier than anything Clay's ever worn.) It really bothers me that the media acts like Clay's the only AI contestant to ever have a makeover, when the truth is that Ruben's about the only one who didn't (since his 205 sports gear was considering fashionable enough for AI).

Clay talked about us! And he ended every sentence with an exclamation point! I hate that! And I hate that I think it's cute when Clay does it! And I hate that I can't stop doing it myself! Damn him! Oh, who cares? I'd still do him!!!!!

OCB, wearing black and leather, of course, preferably something like the black leather jacket he wore all spring, as song starts he's
walking out a door of an apartment but we don't see whose it is. Closes door, starts to walk away, comes back and starts to knock again, changes his mind and turns around. Video is all OCB. It's night. It's raining. OC |
Hell NO!! let's start with him, jacket on, leaning against her open apartment door. She's facing him, sadness on her face. He takes his left hand, places his fingers against her cheek and with his thumb under her chin lifts her face to his. He plants a nice, firm, yet gentle kiss both lips to both lips. He starts to pull away and plants a quick kiss that lands half on her cheek and half on her mouth. He literally pulls back and turns quickly out into the night. (this scene has his voice playing - he's not singing - I'd like to play with his exit (voice over only) until "soon as you get that feelin." Of course, all in black and white. As he's walking and singing we show her back in her room looking at other boyfriend's pic, looking sad, etc., then looking out the window for Clay. (her shots would last
about 4-5 seconds.) We all agree on a bridge. I'm thinkin' a little snow so we can see his breath as he sings.
Ya know what? I can't type anymore. GAH! Holy Shit. |

I HATE(tm Shack) pimping Z100, but they are a very important station and we need to get Clay played more(laid more? that too but let's work on airplay first-business before pleasure!)
I think this number works outside of NY so give it a call for requests:
1-800-242-0100. If you want a city to name go with Queens, Manhattan, New Rochelle, Portchester, Yonkers, or say Long Island(maybe someone else can toss out cities for there, I don't know how far out the signal reaches.)
The website www.z100.com has a list of DJs and email addresses along with a fax number 1-800-386-2329.
Clay has dropped from 25 to 28 on the playlist and this is one station we do not want to lose.
And as always copy and paste for the countdowns.

Not sure??? Not 'sure'?? I like that better than "Gee, little ol' me?"!! He's catching on.
And he's catching on that not all fans are nutty! Well, certifiable.
Boyfriend is prompt about answering e-mail, too. Love that!!
Wait. I just directly quoted Clayton. About PRoC. Which rocks even harder than this morning!

Thanks to Nova for the word from Josh Tyrangiel. I'm still editing an attempted take-down of his article, to be sent to Time.
Edited to say: Thanks, GBB, for the MESSAGE FROM CLAY! EEEEEEE! As if I weren't grinning idiotically enough from the full RTM! Thank you, Clay!!
A brief Clay mention in Hits Daily Double's one-day sales report for the new week:
| Quote: |
| Next week is American Idol finalist Clay Aiken’s RCA debut, Measure of a Man. Will his first-week sales measure up to this week’s action? God knows we don’t. |
Incidentally, according to the same article, Ludacris is expected to move anywhere between 400 and 425K units this week. Elvis is projected to move about 200K.
RUN TO ME TALK AHEAD
Thanks so much to hockeydonna & our clack goddesses for making the world-premiere of RTM available to us. RTM was my least favorite of the four non-Invisible clips we had heard, but that bridge is just beautiful, it just complements and completes the song wonderfully. The song will work so well on the radio. I can't stop listening to it.
The last line of the bridge -- like many of you, I can't quite make out the lyrics, but I -think- it's something like this: "Don't look at me/You make me wrong/Been through this/It makes me strong." Doesn't quite make sense to me, though. Could someone PM if I've somehow missed someone's definitive rendering the bridge lyrics? Thanks! I've seen TrixenVixen's version, and it sounds like she, too, is unsure of the last line.

| Hey, you know what would be cool? We know how Clay loves to bring up interesting stories about crazy (not that this was crazy...it was brilliant...and tasteful!) things his fans have done and repeat said stories over and over again during radio interviews. Wouldn't it be fun to hear Clay tell the story of OVfaC during his next radio interview? Hee! |
